Anna Sipilä is a physician, Doctor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Helsinki. She is known for her warm, knowledgeable and patient-centered approach to care.
Anna qualified as a physician from the University of Helsinki in 2011. She earned her doctorate in medicine on the topic “Fatty liver in metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes” and is an Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Helsinki.
In her work, Anna combines strong medical expertise with an empathetic, patient-centered approach. She is particularly interested in preventive healthcare, metabolic diseases and holistic well-being. She has practised in both public and private healthcare, and for the past 15 years has worked as an occupational health physician.
Anna is also the founder of Dokport. The idea for the service grew out of practical experience and concern about the accessibility of healthcare. She saw first-hand how difficult it is for many people to see a doctor when help is needed most. Overcrowded services, long queues and high costs leave too many without timely care.
Dokport was founded because Anna believed that healthcare should genuinely be accessible to everyone. By leveraging digital solutions, Dokport aims to remove unnecessary barriers to care and to offer medical help quickly, easily and with a low threshold — regardless of where a person lives or their financial situation.
At the heart of Anna’s work is the conviction that modern healthcare must be both humane and accessible. She believes technology can help build a better, more efficient and more equitable healthcare system — and that the work toward this change is only just beginning.
