Anna Sipilä is a physician, Doctor of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Helsinki. She is known for her warm, knowledgeable, and patient-centered approach to care.
Anna graduated as a physician from the University of Helsinki in 2011. She earned her doctoral degree with a dissertation titled “Fatty Liver in Metabolic Syndrome and Type 2 Diabetes”, and she holds a docent position at the University of Helsinki.
In her work, Anna combines strong medical expertise with an empathetic and client-centered approach to patient care. She has a particular interest in preventive healthcare, metabolic diseases, and holistic well-being. She has worked with patients in both public and private healthcare sectors, and for the past 15 years she has worked as an occupational health physician.
Anna is also the founder of Dokport. The idea for the service emerged from practical experience and concern about the accessibility of healthcare in Finland. She witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be for many people to access a doctor when help is most needed. Overcrowded services, long waiting times, and high costs leave too many people without timely care.
Dokport was founded because Anna believes that healthcare should truly be accessible to everyone. By leveraging digital solutions, Dokport aims to remove unnecessary barriers to care and provide medical support quickly, easily, and with a low threshold—regardless of a person’s location or financial situation.
At the core of Anna’s work is the belief that modern healthcare must be both humane and accessible. She believes that technology can help build a better, more efficient, and more equitable healthcare system in the future—and that this work is only just beginning.
